I had used MDB Painting for about 9 years and for a while they did good work and were reliable. After a few years I typically would hire them for a job without getting competitive proposals. Everything changed later as the workers had become quite careless about their work. I had hired them to paint my master bedroom. It wasn't until a few weeks after the project was completed that I discovered they had spilled paint of one of my upholstered chairs and on the carpet. They had flipped the cushion over so I wouldn't notice. The owner offered to have the cushion cleaned but in the end they only smeared the paint around the fabric and the piece was ruined. I was never reimbursed for the cost of the chair. I am always one to give a second chance to a business and so when I bought my next home I hired MDB to paint the entire interior: 3600 sq. feet, including all ceilings, doors and trim. This was a very expensive job - over $13,000!! I had them paint the house before moving in and so provided a set of keys so they could let themselves in. They had five days to work and I would drop in every day to keep an eye on the project. I had told them not to enter the master bathroom as I was storing lamps, art, and mirrors. They had the use of the slop sink in the mudroom for cleanup. At the end of the week I did a walk through with the project manager and discovered that the crew had been using the master bathroom for cleanup and in fact had broken one of my expensive lamps by knocking it over. No one confessed. In fact, they denied having entered the room. Additionally, they put trash in my kitchen cabinets and refrigerator! They tore pages out of a notebook I had on the kitchen counter. I was very disappointed that my home was treated with such disrespect! The overall quality of their work was not good - there were paint spots and spills all over my hardwood floors. Additionally, I had contracted to have two coats of paint on all surfaces to ensure good coverage and later discovered that only one coat had been used on the family room, foyer and upstairs hallway. It wasn't hard to see the edges where they cut in the first coat and it is still that way to this day. It was a terrible experience especially since I entrusted them to such a big job- my new home!! I would never use them again do certainly do not recommend them.

Recommended
Sanded and stained my deck. Repaired and leveled a deck that had settled since built. Repaired and painted dry rotted trim on my house. MDBs prices were fair, the quality of work was excellent and they kept me informed as the work schedule changed often due to weather that was out of their control.
