We have used Jim the Handyman a number of times and were always pleased with the work, until this latest project in July, 2026. And it’s not the work per se, which was done well enough, it’s the total lack of awareness about the environmental impact they created. The biggest problem was allowing sawdust from cutting PVC boards to go directly into our garden beds. This is toxic plastic material, and there were no tents or other guards over the saw output to prevent it from shooting into the air and garden. The output traveled over 20 feet in an area covering about 180 degrees. They also cut pressure-treated boards and sent the sawdust into another part of the garden. At no time did the workers tell me how they were going to set up their saws so I could at least ask them to redirect the sawdust output away from plants. After surveying the mess they created, I asked company reps. that, at a minimum, they educate staff to ask customers where it is alright to saw items, and to provide tents or other guards to contain the sawdust, especially plastic particles. As much as we’ve appreciated the work done by JTH in the past, this lack of concern about environmental hazards gives us serious pause about ever using the company again.

I've used them many times, most recently for drywall repair to the ceiling. There was an easy way and a hard way to do it, and they recommended the easy way, even though the other way would have cost more. The result looks great!
