Our family hired Andy’s Home Improvement to repair extensive storm damage to our home. We are very glad that we did. When choosing a contractor, I look for four attributes: Integrity, the right skills and quality standards, responsiveness and open communication, and fair pricing. Andy and his team get high marks on all four – and they are a pleasure to work with too. Our repairs required a wide range of skillsets - we had an 80-foot tree fall on our garage and faced a combination of structural/exterior repairs and interior work that required several skillsets (framing, finish carpentry, masonry, electrical, HVAC, wallboard, painting, and dealing with county permits and inspections). Andy combined deep experience across a range of trades, creative and money-saving ideas for tackling the project, a flexible and straightforward manner, and an open approach to communication that quickly inspired trust. In its marketing materials, Andy’s company mentions it has been featured in Washingtonian’s list of Contractors You Can Trust. This was absolutely my experience. Andy stuck by his commitments, did what he had promised to do with high quality, and didn’t seek out opportunities to drive up project cost. When unanticipated issues occasionally cropped up, we just discussed them and arrived at a fair solution. Andy even corrected some problems identified during the repairs that were outside of the project scope. In an environment where so many contractors aren’t responsive, perform mediocre work, and are eager to move on to the next job, working with Andy’s Home Improvement was a pleasure. I highly recommend the company and would gladly work with them again. NOTE: I see one negative comment related to responding by phone. In my experience engaging with contractors, the best guys are in demand and busy. Andy wasn’t the first to respond, but he was the contractor to whom I felt most comfortable entrusting a critical and complex project.

Andy is totally dependable and makes sure the job is done right. He knows what he is doing and picks up the hardware, etc. to make sure it is the right item for the job.
