We used Jenkins after a major insurance claim from a tree falling on our house. In general, things were "adequate". Brian, the general contractor was fairly responsive, but he sent some of the worst subcontractors, especially drywall and painting. The company probably made less money on us than most, because we had them come back and fix so many things, which they almost always did. All in all, it was better to let Jenkins deal with insurance than us (which we tried for a couple pieces of the job and it was the biggest headache...took almost a year to get paid for one part, but at least we were pleased with the quality of the work), so I would probably use them again, but keep an eye on the work, because they'll try to get away with inferior service and products if you let them get away with it.

This is the worst contractor I've ever seen; avoid them like the plague. Jenkins was recommended by my insurance company (USAA) for a claim in the kitchen (replace floor and cabinets). Everything started out well and the staff were polite, but it quickly went downhill once the work started. Jenkins failed to adequately mask to control dust and we now have to get our carpets and furniture professionally cleaned. We purchased tile for the floor and had Jenkins do the installation. They covered up a heating/air conditioning floor vent (which they tried to hide from us), the tile lines were not straight, the tile widths were not even, and the tile heights were uneven. The floor was completely unacceptable and Jenkins (to their credit) ripped it up and re-accomplished the work with OK results. But the cabinets that Jenkins recommended and purchased from Wolf looked like they were assembled from quality control rejects and the installation workmanship was poor. The cabinets had cracks, scratches, dents, chips, off-color doors and inadequate paint. Jenkins mounted our microwave crookedly and did not do any drywall repair to cover the mounting holes from the old cabinets. We spent an entire month trying to negotiate with Jenkins to replace the affected parts and cabinets and could never come to terms; even though Jenkins could not get paid until we were satisfied with their work. The project manager would verbally promise to fix an item and then it would not show up on the punch list. In another example, Jenkins refused to replace cabinets with six inch cracks in the door frames that they attempted to hide with caulking, claiming they "met industry standards." We've now spent one and a half months so far working thru USAA to get a settlement. Every step of the way Jenkins has inflated their estimates with work they did not perform, materials they did not purchase and unsatisfactory work to increase their payment.
