Not enough checkout counter staff. Not enough baggers and helpers for people with disabilities.

Prices are high so I look for sales and shop sparingly

I visited Whole Foods recently for the first time in a long time. I was disappointed! The produce section, which I would expect to be very good, was small, poorly laid out, and the items lacking in variety and quality. Jewel-Osco and Pete’s are both much better in every way. Overall the store seemed kind of rundown and grungy. In the past I would be willing to pay more for quality, organic items and would have considered Whole Foods to be the gold standard—not any more. Overpriced for substandard offerings now. Meat and fresh fish, while still pricey, are good, though. As would be expected, lots of unusual and purportedly “healthy” items that are of dubious value—junk food is junk food even if the packaging says it’s healthy. This is somewhere I would go if I were searching for a specific item that I might not find elsewhere but it’s definitely not on my usual list of stores to frequent. And the savings for Prime members isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
