My reaction is quite mixed. On the plus side, the jar grip they gave as an advertising piece works well. In the end, the kitchen drain is not blocked and does not rain down in the basement. But it took 2 visits a week apart and cost me $1663.(Sept. 2026) As others have mentioned, initial hr. is $285, then $240/hr. First appt. was scheduled for 3 days later, then moved up due to a cancellation. The first plumber (Arvis Murillo) said he couldn’t clear the drain (in the end, it seems he had), told me I needed to call a specialist with a different tool, repaired a small corrosion leak, and left while the sink drain still leaked in the basement. The second team (Eddie Lara & a helper) came 6 days later, was more analytic, cut open a wall, found no problem there, then tested and realized the problem was from the disposall. Removing the disposall ended the leak. Neither team had an inspection camera to look inside walls or ceilings with minimum disruption. I had a spare security camera I mounted in a basement soffit to see where the leak appeared. Then I had to repair the base cabinet back wall they cut through to look for but not find the leak. No way was the first plumber worth $240/hr for 3 hrs. The second team for another $720 was more worthwhile. Then there were the inflated material costs ($5 for PVC adhesive, $7 for putty, $44 for drain - $15-22 retail at HD, etc) but no credit for the copper pipe removed. I’m not saying that Arvis, the first plumber, didn’t work to the best of his ability. He just didn’t have the experience or tools to solve the problem. And I had explained to Peddicord that this was a combination of a slow drain and a hidden, large leak — not just a toilet tank leak or a dripping faucet. So if you deal with Peddicord, you might or might not get your money’s worth. And for full disclosure, I’m a DIYer who’s done essentially all my own plumbing for 40 yrs, up to and including bathroom remodeling, and I’m new to Montgomery County. So I have nothing with which to directly compare Peddicord. They might be the best you can get. In the end, 6 hrs. 3 people to clear a stopped drain and remove disposall.

I have been very impressed with Peddicord. They installed a new water heater at our house in 2025, then returned in the summer of 2026 to install a new toilet and evaluate the water flow to that toilet. In addition, they replaced my mom's laundry room faucet. All of their technicians are courteous and capable. What I appreciate most is the receptionist who takes calls. She is very on top of things and efficient. I have had to play weeks-long phone tag with previous plumbers and/or they don't call back at all, so this service is refreshing. Peddicord is not cheap, but they provide excellent service.

Prices were high and estimates are hard to get because prices are by hour and half-hour and it's hard to estimate jobs without knowing the extent of the problem. Our work was completed satisfactorily and promptly but it was quite expensive.
