DO NOT ship your goods with Atlas Van Lines/Ace Moving and Warehousing! We are 17 months after our move to our new home and still don’t have a satisfactory resolution for damaged caused by the negligence of Ace/Atlas Van Lines. Our damages, including excess fees and insurance, are almost $10,000. Atlas’ first settlement offer was $1,750. After 6 months and 2 certified letters, Atlas’ final offer was only $3,290. Atlas offered values lower than damage reported by the appraiser—who was hired by Atlas! Atlas has stonewalled us at every turn. Movers are required to give customers the pamphlet, “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move”. In the case of Atlas, this document is not worth the paper it is written on. From the outset, the Bill of Lading is your contract. On loading day, the driver should give you a copy of the Bill of Lading. Our driver used a handheld device to capture our signature and he DID NOT print or e-mail a copy to us. On loading day, you should receive another document, the Inventory. The Inventory includes the driver’s evaluation of the condition of your goods. Our driver was very wrong about identifying damage—he noted as damaged brand new items that had been in the house only 6 days. Without our knowledge, Atlas converted our goods from Storage-in-Transit to Permanent Storage. To have our goods returned, we had to pay duplicate fees and higher costs. Atlas had mailed a notice to a person Atlas claims is on our account. The letter was not addressed to our names. Atlas claims that we should have broken a federal law by opening a letter not addressed to us. (We lived in an apartment. The mail box received dozens of letters addressed to strangers!) Atlas’ clerical accuracy was terrible. We had provided to Atlas eight signed documents and multiple emails containing only our names. No document provided by us had the name of anyone else. We did not learn of the so-called conversion until two months later, when the storage company requested payment. After goods are switched to permanent storage, Atlas takes no responsibility for their condition, regardless of whether Atlas or the storage company caused damage. We were forced to take out another insurance policy, pay a fee to inspect our goods at the storage company, and pay an increased delivery fee. Although that storage company is an Atlas affiliate, it has ignored our requests for an accounting of the damage. Again, do not ship your goods with Ace Moving and Warehousing/ Atlas Van Lines!

We used Ace Moving and Warehousing of Coon Rapids, MN for two separate moves in August and September of 2019. We had consulted two other moving companies for these moves, and Ace Moving had the best price. We were able to do all of the background work: estimates, agreements, signatures, deposits over the computer and telephone. The estimates of the cost for both moves were right-on accurate. The team of movers were so good for the 1st move, we asked for them for the second move also. It took two movers for the first move and 3 for the second. They all were very friendly, and very careful of the two homes involved in the moves and a storage unit, as well. All contents arrived AOK; there were no damage to either residence and none to the storage unit. These guys were truly amazing. When they weren't moving slowly to be careful with the furniture, they would be jogging back and forth to the truck; loading and unloading. Staff at the office provided all of the information needed for the move, and the team leader of the movers made sure that the i's were dotted and t's crossed. There were no surprises; as we had heard from the friend who recommended this company. Everything went extremely well for both moves, and the cost was just as expected. The local travel included Andover, Champlin, Minnetonka and Hopkins, MN. If we need help moving again, Ace Moving is the mover we will call.
