DO not use this guy! Go to Build Zoom, and you will find out about this crook. The company card says, 23 years in business. Well, that is when he started his so called business. He has gone by the following names: Deck Savers, HWH Contractors, and now, H&H Hardwood flooring, and those are just the ones I could find; sure there are more.
He incorporated his latest business in April, 2005. The reason he keeps changing Business names is because he has such a horrible reputation. Therefore, he does the old, "bait and switch, " as in changing the company name.

No, he is NOT a Licensed Pa. Contractor - as it says on his website. It seems Pa. pulled his License - how many years ago, I don't know.
I SHOULD have known he was a flim-flam man when I first contacted him. He returned my call immediately, and I told him about the job, and when I needed the work done. No problem, he said. However, my next few calls went to voice mail. When he finally called back said he had a family emergency. Okay, understandable. He was suppose to meet me at the Condo I had purchased -on 3 different occasions. I was there, for all 3 appts., but he was not. He would call within an hour with the following excuses -.. #1 appt. -his daughter's soccer game went overtime, #2 app. - had to go out of town for family emergency. I cannot remember ALL the excuses.
The problem was ---I was on a time restraint, and had already invested 3 weeks counting on him.

I contracted with him to do 2 small bedrooms with Parquet flooring. He was suppose to pull up carpeting, padding, and LIGHTLY sand the Parquet floors underneath, and put either wax or put something similar on the top. Also, install quarter round. The floors were in GREAT condition except for one small spot that looked like nail polish had been spilled.

I ended up pulling up ALL the carpeting, and padding. I also disposed of 75 % of it.
When he finally showed up; he did NONE of the work. He had subcontracted it out - to another company. I guess you can't do work without a license. These guys obviously didn't respect him, but I guess they needed the work.

I paid him half of his price before the work began, and the 2nd half after it was done. It was $200. over what he said it would be.

Bottom Line: It was a TERRIBLE job. He told me the Parquet floors were engineered parquet, and that was the reason he had to put 2 coats of "gunk;" on the top," after the sanding. ALL LIES! They were NOT engineered Parquet, and now I have a real problem. If you move a small table, it leaves a deep gouge that CANNOT be repaired. It seems my ONLY option is to have the "gunk," removed, and have it ALL redone. I simply cannot afford to do so. I paid him $1,700.

Insult to Injury: He would NOT send me a bill, marked "paid," after I emailed him, and called him numerous times. I finally emailed him, and told him I was calling the Attorney General of Pa. He did send a bill, but the bill indicated it was for $200. less than I actually paid him.

I am a Senior citizen, and have had a couple of lousy experiences, but this "piece of work," takes the cake!
