Edgar came to my home to provide an estimate for some repairs on my steps. He said he would provide an estimate in two days. He did not. The following week I called three or four times but had to leave a message each time asking that he let me know the status of the promised estimate. No one returned any of my calls and no estimate was ever provided.

I wasn't sure whether my DC rowhouse needed masonry work, so Edgar came by for a consultation. He took a careful look and told me that everything looked great and we didn't need him. I really appreciated his honesty--I can't judge the quality of his work, having not needed to hire him in the end, but my experience seemed like a good indication that he doesn't try to sell unnecessary services!
