This may be the most honest auto shop I have ever used. They have never upsold me, despite many opportunities, and deliberately try to do the least that you need and save you money where they can. They will also keep working on a problem until it's fixed, and they have solved some issues other shops didn't or couldn't. They are SUPER busy and a bit hard to contact, and I have wasted a few trips going there when they either couldn't work on my car as planned (eg one of their mechanics was sick) or the car wasn't ready. When last this happened, I complained and they made an adjustment to my bill I felt was fair. Be advised that you can take your car for an oil change and then find out when you go to pick it up that they didn't do it because they felt it wasn't needed. I appreciate their effort to avoid unnecessary work and cost, but I sometimes do an oil change early when I have a long trip, and the communication challenges can make it hard to get this across effectively. I recommend them despite the challenges, because they are in my view both honest and skilled.

Never an attempt to oversell. When I thought I needed a muffler, it turned out it was just an exhaust gasket and much less expensive then I'd anticipated.

I have been going to DP for nearly 20 years (since when it first opened). Dave is all you would want from an auto mechanic -- thorough, skilled, fair, honest. He figures out exactly what needs repair, does it perfectly, charges a fair price and never, ever upsells. He has a line of repairs every morning because his loyal customer base all recognize the same thing. I will continue to go to him for all my auto needs.
