Long Fence made a presentation to replace our roof. We were shocked when the salesman told us it would cost $45000 to replace our roof. I questioned the amount and he dropped it to $35000. We declined but I received numerous phone calls offering to lower the price. The salesman was visibly irritated when we declined his services.

Not only did these roofers totally fail to do the $10,000 roof replacement adequately, they actually damaged the gutters, destroyed the roofing material that was intact, then even after admitting the damage they had caused (which included causing newly repointed mortar to crumble, ceiling fixtures to actually fall out of the rain-soaked roofing that wasn't even edged or caulked properly, and holes to develop in the interior walls of my home) Long Roofing refused to honor the 20-year warranty they had gi en me. All this occurred less than 2 years after they claimed to have completed the roof replacement and took my money. I am disabled and on SSDI, and had to choose between retaining a lawyer to sue or use what small savings I had left to stabilize my rowhouse to protect my neighbors' property, possessions, and safety. I filed numerous complaints with local and federal agencies but none would help. I was forced to borrow against the equity in my home to repair the damage and protect my neighbors. The statute of limitations does not expire until 10/2021, and I was advised by numerous disaster recovery firms to evacuate the house for my own safety. But with nowhere to go I stayed, and despite still having damages throughout the home, I am thinking of pursuing federal claims and breach of contract/consumer protection actions. The contract is null and void, but I think the company is going to be facing worse legal problems than lawsuits from me. I hope people are made aware of the substandard, lack of professionalism Long Roofing is guilty of and protect themselves from this fraudulent, incompetent company. If anyone is considering hiring these liars, DON'T!!! Their incompetence, refusal to honor warranties, and disregard for scamming disabled elderly people is criminal.
