Jorge Cortez has done many handyman jobs at my house over the past year. I originally found him on Checkbook and I have been extremely pleased with his outstanding workmanship and work ethic. He is a very friendly, pleasant, and highly skilled professional who takes pride in his work and pays attention to the details. He is very responsive, and always finds clever solutions to any problem presented. He cleans up after the work is completed and his fees are reasonable. I was very lucky to find him as he has repaired many issues I have had at the house such as repairing multiple aspects of a faulty double front door (thus avoiding the high cost of replacement), repairing and replacing closet shelving, repairing staircase banisters, replacing bathroom and kitchen caulking, replacing garage door weather strips and installing smoke alarms among other jobs. He is highly recommended and you won’t be disappointed if you hire Jorge Cortez. He is truly outstanding!

The job took longer than expected, but Jorge stayed until it was finished without charging extra. Installed 2 deadbolt locks and weather stripping, and removed rotting wood in garage door and custom fit replacement wood, which he also primed and painted. Professional workmanship.

Jorge Cortez is one of the finest and most responsible carpenters I've run into, plus his pricing is very good. My wife and I wanted work done on our four-poster bed, lowering it some. It wasn't an easy job, and we were highly satisfied with the results. He also did some other, more minor repairs, to several doors and our dining room table, without those being included in his estimate. Perhaps, as important, he is very easy to talk to and receptive of suggestions. All in all, highly recommended.
