Despite the Philadelphia address, the callback to my service request came from a phone number in St. Albans, NY. She set up an estimate appointment. Several hours before that appointment, Ramiz Duka called to say he was in my neighborhood and was able to come by. He was somewhat hard to communicate with. He looked at my job, and, after giving the price immediately began finding reasons that the job could not be done "properly." I had obtained replacement hinges of the same brand for a kitchen cabinet door online from the supplier for the Austrian manufacturer of my original hinges. The originals were over 20 years old. The new ones looked almost identical. The door is my under-sink door, and is in a corner; it is a concave laminated door. But Mr. Duka was upset that the new hinges were slightly shorter than the originals. He said the door might not work the same as before on these new hinges and that he wouldn't guarantee the outcome or my satisfaction but I still had to pay the $225 fee. When I objected, he raised his voice to me. I said he should leave, which he did. I think he didn't have the skills needed to do my job and he was trying to blame me for his inability to do the work instead of just saying he didn't want the job.
