When we purchased our home, we were told that the chimney may be damaged and would need inspection before use. We finally got around to having someone come out, and Rooftop was informative and pleasant to work with. The tiles in the chimney were indeed damaged, both from the fireplace and where our furnace vents up. They also identified that the chimney crown was cracking and starting to allow water in, which was bubbling the paint but had not yet affected the mortar. We decided to have the chimney re-crowned and a liner run from the furnace up. The crew didn't arrive as promptly as the scheduler made it sound they would, but they were here early enough and worked a long day getting both jobs done. They were self-sufficient all day, left our utility room and garage exactly as they had found it, and provided a report with photographs documenting the process and results. We won't know until it gets colder exactly how well it's all working, but I feel optimistic, and we will likely use them again in the future to get the fireplace in working order as well.
