Their communications are very good about upcoming routine outside service (e.g., a phone message a day or so ahead of the visit, suggesting that a resident call if indoor service is needed in addition to the routine outside service). Their newer automatic billing system is reliable but oddly emails out bills at the beginning of the month in which routine service is scheduled, no matter when the routine service is scheduled during the month. I called and spoke to their billing department and said that I would rather pay after services actually are rendered and they said that would be okay.

This is a somewhat tepid recommendation. I contracted with this company for a number of years to rid my house of mice that were getting in through a crawl space. The company faithfully came every quarter to empty my traps, but it seemed unable to deal with the main problem, which was to seal off the points of entry. This may have been due to my misunderstanding about the company's services; locating and sealing the holes may have required a contractor. Nonetheless, I would have expected American Pest to identify the problem early on, to tell me they could not do the work and to refer me to an appropriate contractor. I finally stopped my quarterly service because I realized on my own that it wasn't dealing with my problem. The staff was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with at all times. I'll miss them.

In 20 years of home ownership, this is probably the worst company I have dealt with. They did not perform the services they said they would. They did not provide receipts for the services they did perform. They charged for services they didn't perform. The company used to be good, but I think they were taken over by a larger company and now are really bad.
