My experience with this company was disappointing to say the least. I own a condominium unit that needed plumbing work to make it fit for sale. While some parts of the work were performed adequately, others left a lot to be desired. There were three instances in which this company failed in its duty to me as a client. 1. When the technician who came out to inspect my unit looked at the job, I discussed including replacement of the garbage disposal in the kitchen. He failed to note that on the contract, and because I had recent eye surgery, which he knew about, I did not catch that. When the plumber, a different employee of the company, came out to do the job, he told me he would replace the garbage disposal for $250.00. Because I was on a tight time schedule, I agreed to the cost. 2. The contract also called for replacement of the tub fixtures. However, when I inspected the job at the end of the day, I noticed the plumber had not replaced the outflow and waste water part, which was corroded. He claimed this was not on the contract either, even though I had specified a replacement of all the tub fixtures. When I asked how much it would cost, he quoted me a price of $500.00, which I refused. Our building handyman later removed and inspected the part, and told me he could fix it for about $50.00. 3. The worst problem caused by the plumber from Best Choice was that, in replacing the main shut-off valve for the unit, he had reversed the plug for the flood stop unit I had installed with my hot water heater. As a result, the water in the unit was cut off for two weeks. Again, our building maintenance man was able to fix it by re-inserting the plug for the flood stop correctly. I thought the water system in my unit had completely failed, and that I was looking at thousands of dollars in repairs. It was lucky for me that our building maintenance man is so knowledgeable. There is no way I could in good conscience recommend this company to anyone. The plumber they sent to do the work not only tried to cheat me by attempting to overcharge me to replace the outflow and waste water fixture, but performed in such an incompetent manner that he could have seriously damaged my flood stop setup. It was sheer luck that the plug for the flood stop, which had been forced into the receptacle the wrong way, was not damaged or broken.
