Called them regarding the need to relight pilot on gas water heater bourht from and installed by them 3 year ago. Person taking phone call just offered to schedule a tech, made no mention of service call fee. technician came out and lit pilot, but just wanted to leave as quickly as possible, without instructing me on how to light the pilot myself. I had removed the access panel, he failed to replace the access panel, which is a safety issue. Technician left without any paperwork showing a charge, making a vague statement about what the office would do regarding a charge. 1. no prior notice of their policy of amount of charge 2. should have ensured i understood how to light pilot myself rather than leave as quickly as possible (which maybe would have made sense if this was a non-revenue call) 3. avoided informing me of the fee (of course, this should have been clarified beforehand, even if I'd encountered similar issues 2-3 years previously including the service call charge) 4. improperly left water heater without replacing access panel I request that they mark their records that if I should make the mistake of calling for service in the future, that we have previously indicated that at our request, any future request for service call should be declined.
