We also had Semper do our roof, and that was a complete disaster. The roof required 3 days of their crew making repairs just to make it acceptable. Even so, it is going to leak eventually because of the shoddy work. When it came time to do the solar they started asking for additional money above the agreed contract - $3,750. We could not agree because they refused to detail exactly what it was they were planning to do for that cost. We finally brought out our own electrician and had him do some work that we knew would be up to code. After the roof disaster we did not feel that Semper could be trusted without them giving us explicit details beforehand. The installation seemed to go smoothly and was done in a day. But when I went up on the roof I found that when they installed the flashing for the fasteners they didn’t take the time to work the flashing under the shingles properly – most of the shingles I could see were badly torn and just left hanging without any patching. There were also trim pieces missing. Semper insists on having access to your bank account so they can do an electronic transfer when it’s time for payments. One problem is that they take the money when they think they should, not when the work is done – which is illegal by California law. So once they take the money you have little recourse if they don’t finish the job. They claim they will always notify you before taking money, but that wasn’t true – they took the $3,750 they asked for without a notice, even though they never did that work. It ended up taking weeks to get the money back. Finally, it took about two months to get the system working after the installation. They insisted that it could take PG&E 6 to 8 weeks after the final application, then changed that to 8 to 12 weeks as it dragged on – but it turned out that Semper never submitted the final application. When they finally submitted it, it took PG&E 3 days to OK turning on the system. Do not use Semper Solaris. If you do choose to use them, make sure that you are capable of going up on the roof and into your attic to inspect the work, otherwise you may be stuck with substandard work. After a good rain you should inspect your attic to make sure that the roof or solar installation isn’t leaking.

Provided fast professional installation. Would recommend 3 more panels than whatever they recommend.
