For big jobs, I seek out at least 10 potential contractors. For our deck replacement: We contacted 13 deck builders 10 returned my call/email 8 came out to inspect the job 5 submitted bids/quotes 3 were considered of the 3: Hand Construction got the job Our second choice was Schleicher Construction (ph: 415 298 8094) 3rd. place House Savers Deck Masters (415 456 2871) had a bad attitude. The vibe wasn't right from the first phone call.
