E.F. Gomez is a large firm with multiple contracts in San Francisco and San Mateo. The firm subcontracted under a prime to complete multiple items in a larger project, including a side walk. They blocked off parking and dug out existing structures, which were then left for a week while the company juggled personnel and projects. They company did respond to a notice that they were required to complete the project on time, and sent out a crew pulled from other projects. The crew, however, used handpicks for the remaining removal and created a dump pile on our good sidewalk while they sought a dumpster. The pile sat for a week, and when removed, revealed three newly cracked sidewalk sections. The owner came back with the prime contractor and stated that since there was evidence of mold on one of the three broken blocks, he refused to take responsibility for the damage and subsequent repair. The final job was well done and will stand the test of time. The scheduling, staffing and cleanup was inferior to barely adequate. It's reasonable to conclude that while they have a good reputation, they have outgrown their scheduling and project personnel resources.
