Izmirian installed more-powerful-than-necessary furnace and air conditioning units in my house. The ducts in the house are not large enough to accommodate the air volume put out by the units, so we need to figure out how to maximize the air flow (with the limited ducts that we have) so that the unit does not over heat (furnace) or freeze (AC). Further, their workmanship was shoddy. For example, I wanted a good quality air filter, but they did not size the metal plenum properly to the filter unit housing. Consequently air flow was reduced (and also the too small plenum wasted 25% of the filter surface area). In addition, they did not understand the new, complex electronic controls.
The units are still not functioning properly even though they have been working on this for more than 1 year after installation. Although Izmarian has fixed some of the problems, I have another contractor working on this now, since it does not seem likely that Izmirian will be able to fix the mess that they created.

We have a difficult A/C situation without an easy solution. Izmirian has been out twice and may not have a permanent fix, but I feel they have communicated the options well and recommended what they would do if it were their own house.
