When I took my car in to a shop in Cupertino for an oil change, the shop managed to convince me that my automatic transmission (which was working perfectly)also needed work; namely they said it should be flushed in order for it to continue working properly. I gave the go-ahead. When I got the car back, the transmission was slipping so badly the car was unusable, and the shop recommended replacing the transmission. (Very expensive!) Instead I took it to Century Automotive. They found that the flushing should not have been done: Ford recommends against it. They found the transmission severely overfilled, and they found that the kick down linkage had been broken. They corrected the overfill and repaired the linkage, after which they test drove the vehicle to confirm that the transmission operated perfectly. Total cost: 41.75. Based on this experience, I would rate this shop outstanding in both technical knowledge and low price.
