I responded to an ad about retirement fund options. They emailed a PDF that was easy to understand but heavily slanted to high-margin products that didn't address my needs; when an advisor talked, it was clear they had their program to push and weren't interested in my (not terribly unique) circumstances. PS—I'm a former investment professional w an often-jaundiced view of high-cost services offered by my former peers
