When making repair appt on Apple web site, specify glass repair to get a faster appt. than for a general repair. Also know they won't replace glass on a phone which has a previous repair with non-Apple glass, and won't replace glass if the phone fails their diagnostic, even if the phone is otherwise working. Follow advice of web site to make a good backup of your phone on iTunes before bringing it in. But make sure you check the iTunes setting for the backup's password or you may be unable to restore the backup, if needed.

The repair seems to have been done well. But first you must get past the Genius Bar, where you are quite likely to receive bad information (eg, I was initially told I had a software problem and should re-install the OS, when in fact my logic board had failed

My daughter had had problems with an iPhone for several weeks - poor reception in a bad-coverage area. Several visits to Verizon, including purchasing a $500 amplifier device, failed to fix it. We took it to the Apple store to see if something was wrong with the phone. It was fine, but the Apple tech found a Verizon service bulletin describing the problem (it was a Verizon-related one) and how to fix it. Her phone now works fine. Cost us nothing. Why couldn't Verizon have done this? - it was a Verizon-related problem and their service bulletin.
