Employed subcontractors who were not licensed or certified to perform HVAC installation. Work was done poorly and caused damage and repairs are being disputed by Magnolia. Tried charging me over $3000 to reconnect appliances to a new water heater.

I responded to an offer from Magnolia for a pre-season inspection of the heating system for $49. Although I routinely change the filter on the 1st of every month, the technician claimed that the unit had accumulated so much dust and “possibly bad mold” inside that he need to return with another technician to remove and chemically acid wash the blower assembly and heat exchanger, and install an “airknight” to the duct system. The quote was almost $2500! I decided to have another company inspect the system. The subsequent diagnosis was that there was just normal dust, and absolutely no mold. The unit was then cleaned for a nominal charge.

New house. Gas/condensate furnace was on for a few weeks to adjust new hardwood flooring. Came back to house on a Saturday and it wasn't warming, furnace was shorting, and I noticed a smell. Friendly dispatcher, technician arrived quickly. I think the technician did unneeded work, but he did quote me and I agreed to it. Over 400$ for "pressure switch was not closing for the for the gas valve to open. GF would short cycle and go into fault code. Explain to customer and situation with system that the GF condensate drain line need to be clean and flame sensor." $109 for diagnostic per system. Got a quote on replacing old water heater but technician couldn't explain why he was recommending certain things "it's code" but couldn't explain why. Grateful problem fixed but am sure I could have found lower price.
