If you're interested in a project that can require complex permitting requirements (e.g., basement rental/ADU), she can be very helpful in navigating the process for you (at a cost, of course). Aside from that, we found her communication, attention to detail, and overall construction and design advice to be lacking. Her measurements were off, she made basic mistakes in permit drawings that we caught and bugged her about multiple times before being corrected, she overlooked usability of the spaces she designed, and she provided bad advice overall on how we should approach the project. These issues led to a lot more work on our parts, and several costly change orders during the construction phase. For the amount of money you're paying for designs and drawings, this shouldn't happen.

Throughout the process, she was always available to answer my questions and provide guidance, and kept me informed every step of the way. She was always professional, friendly, and approachable, and they made me feel like my project was their top priority. When it came time for construction, Ileana continued to provide outstanding support, working closely with us, ensuring that everything was done to the highest standard. Ileana was always available to address any issues that arose and to make sure that the project stayed on track.

Love working with ileana. She is opinionated but not pushy. She brings passion, vision and lots of positive energy to our interactions. Something I found comforting during this very intimidating process. Most importantly she was able to read my mind better than me and could create a vision of space that I could never dream of. She was different in that way from the design build firms I interviewed and other architects. That's what made it a worthwhile investment. Her work as an architect got a lot of positive reviews from builders. Highly recommend
