I took some jewelry in for repair almost three years ago. The proprietor broke a stone in the expensive ring and assured me that he would replace it. I returned to the store multiple times over the following months, each time taking him at his word that he would call me back as soon as he found a replacement stone. A few months ago, he told me that he could not find the ring. He again took my phone number, telling me he would call me as soon as he found the ring. When I went back today, he very rudely told me that he would do nothing for me and then turned his back on me. No refund; not even a credit for future work. I had been a loyal customer, and for close to three years gave him the benefit of the doubt, expecting that he would be honorable. None of that mattered.
