Agreed to provide transdermal medication by sitter who claimed they gave to their own cats. Upon my return cat was lying on it's side, lethargic. After two doses of the prednisone cat recovered over a day and a half. Scenario consistent with acute adrenal crisis from abruptly stopping prednisone. Luckily only gone a couple days or outcome may have been worse. Situation has not recurred in the 2 years since. When I explained concern was told sitter did give medication. Asked for another sitter, and was told there was no sitter who would be available going forward.
