A home equity loan application was not submitted for consideration as requested by joint property owners, and the loan officer failed to inform the owners that he omitted some of the documents they provided when submitting the application for review and approval by the underwriter. Consequently, the final settlement documents contained inaccurate information regarding the preferred repayment option selected and applicable interest rate discounts granted. Following up on corrective actions required to resolve the problems encountered caused unnecessary stress for the applicants.
