We had an issue with our heat pump running more than usual and auxiliary heat coming on that turned out to be normal for the outside temps combined with our thermostat trying to heat to higher than the set temperature. It was a simple replacement of the thermostat, which I had the technician do. We paid parts and labor, and that included $250 for the thermostat. All this was excellent. The problem was when I later looked up the retail price of the model, which is $60-75. I was surprised by the mark-up so I called the office and asked them about the large difference. I told them I expected some markup but not 3-4X. They said they had competitive prices and that the markup was reasonable and we left it there. It's hard to believe that, I guess I would shop around before I used them again for anything.

Kyle at J & K Air Conditioning provided the kind of old fashion service you rarely see anymore. My 18+ year old furnace stopped working Sunday night. Kyle at J & K was able to come out the next morning. He found a couple of issues, a bad control board and a burned out socket and clearly explained my repair and replacement options. Given the age of the furnace I chose to replace it. Kyle explained the different models and, because additional chimney and duct work would have been required, he honestly recommended a less expensive unit rather than up selling me. Kyle and Scot installed the new furnace the next morning. The new system is quieter and heats our upstairs far better than the old one. I've been a J & K customer for over 20 years and their service has always been reliable and fairly priced. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful firm! Our 2-yr old Carrier Infinity heat pump failed on the coldest night of winter (15 degrees!). The firm that had installed it came out and said we needed a new blower motor which had to be shipped from Carrier and would take a few days. I called several Checkbook-recommended firms and J&K was the only one that didn’t have several days’ backup due to staff availability and/or needing to order the motor from Carrier. Scott picked up the motor and installed it the next morning. Their labor charge was extremely reasonable (the outrageously expensive motor was covered by warranty). Beyond that, Carissa took the time to follow up that afternoon to be sure everything was operating properly. (I can’t recall the last time that happened with a repair firm.) She also provided helpful answers to my follow-up questions over the next several days. These folks provide great and fast service and I definitely will use them again (but hopefully not too soon).
