In my opinion, Renewal By Andersen window replacements are very overpriced. The RBA salesman did a very good job selling the product with added 5% discount if you contracted that day. I went through the automated contracting process in my home to take advantage of their 48 month financing due to having excellent credit. The problem is that the windows are priced too high even after the discounts. The hook RBA uses is the quality of installation to deflect your attention away from the overpriced windows. You get excited about the name, Andersen due to effective marketing and their installation quality, instead of the overpriced windows. After reviewing the contract carefully the next day, I decided to cancel the contract (MD has a 7 day cancellation period if you are over age 65). However, once the contract is signed expect RBA installation team contact you immediately to arrange installation. Follow-on questions you have about the contract and financing are slow-walked in getting responses. The clock is ticking for you to cancel the contract. In my opinion, you can go to 84 lumber and purchase Andersen Windows and have them installed by a reputable, quality installer at a much lower cost. Another marketing hook used by RBA is the added value to your home according to the realtors they surveyed. Do you pay more for a home because of overpriced Andersen windows? Think it through before you are stuck paying for overpriced windows over a period of years, which you thought were discounted.

The quality of the product was excellent. They replaced every window in my house (22 in total) in less than a day! They also replaced my front door with a sidelight door. The only less than superb aspect that I have to say about them was that the sales representative and the installation team had wildly different opinions about their products (e.g., front door lock).

I did not hesitate to hire Renewal by Andersen to install replacement windows on the upper level of my house because I had a great experience two years ago, when they installed windows on the lower level of my house. Unfortunately, the experience in November 2024 wasn't nearly as positive. The installers didn't communicate anything about what they were doing unless I asked a specific question. I made it clear that putting any materials from my job on my neighbor's property was not acceptable, but they did it anyway. I wanted them to put coverings over the open window frames to keep birds from flying in, but they refused to do that, too. I paid for the blinds to be removed and replaced by the installers. But the installers did not want to replace the blinds when they completed the windows installation. The bedroom and bathroom windows were left completely uncovered. After appealing, they finally consented to replace the blinds, but they did a sloppy job of it. I hope that the actual installation of the windows was done correctly. I realize that part of the high cost that I paid was for the warranty of quality installation of the windows. In spite of the negative experience I had with the installers, I hope the company will stand behind their product (as they frequently advertise). But training of installers needs to improve exponentially. Getting a team that is respectful of homeowners and their property should not be a matter of "luck." It should be standard operating procedure. I shouldn't be stressed out over having windows installed, but I was. I discussed my experience with management and they said they would improve the training of installers. I hope they follow through on that promise.
