We had been told by another chimney company that we needed to completely replace the lining of our chimney at a cost of $10,000. We thought we should get a second opinion, so we contacted Suburban Chimney. Suburban told us that our chimney lining did not need to be replaced, but that it and part of the outside chimney needed repairs and showed us photographs of the issues. They carefully repaired everything and cleaned our chimney and fireplace, including the stonework on the outside of the fireplace at a much lower cost than the other company. They were also really neat and careful.

My chimney had suffered water damage and needed repairs. Two masons advised a nearly complete rebuild, which would have been very expensive. JP of Suburban recommended a partial rebuild with a more affordable price tag. Importantly, he patiently and clearly explained the reasoning behind his recommendations, which convinced me that he was the right guy for the job. He also shared a few helpful observations about my home’s maintenance issues that were unrelated to the chimney. His team did good work, and they were careful not to damage my solar panels, which are located perilously close to the chimney. He returned afterward to inspect and review their work with me, and he reduced the price a little because they hadn’t needed to replace as many bricks as they’d included in the initial quote. I’m a very satisfied customer and would glad hire the team for additional jobs.

Suburban is a family owned business, and John has been a pleasure to work with. He helped fix venting into an old chimney flue and replace the lining. He was very communicative, provided pictures, and was on time and in line with his estimate, beating 2-3 other bids. No doubt I'll use him again.
