Repair of front stairs -- cut out damaged bricks, replace them with matching bricks and repoint the mortar joists on the treads, risers, and landing

I had a job that required special care. I got the opposite. Most of the work was done by Mr. O'Reilly assistant, who was not a skilled mason; I thought Mr. O'Reilly was going to do it. If you hire Mr. O'Reilly, be sure to button down who will actually do the work. And don't settle for work by an assistant "under my supervision." That's not the same as hiring a mason.
