I recommend checking Dr. Pearl's Yelp ratings before you book an appointment. His office space is dark, unclean and cluttered; his demeanor is strange; the claims posted on his website are misleading at best (e.g., he is not a current Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Sports Medicine, he is not listed in Washingtonian Magazine as a top sports doctor, and his claim to fame in a "recent" Washingtonian article is, in fact, sufficiently old that I can find no record of it). He was, however, reprimanded by the Virginia Dept of Health Professions some years ago for performing "surgical procedures for which he was not qualified." In addition, he kept me waiting almost an hour after my appointment time before seeing me, and he was distracted and unfocused when I did see him. Worst of all, I now have to find another podiatrist to treat the damage he did when he attempted to drain a cyst on my toe. His efforts left me with a sprained toe, deep bruising, and what looks to be an infection. As mentioned by other reviewers, this doctor's main focus seems to be trying to sell patients products that aren't covered by insurance.

The office is chaotic and not very clean looking, there podiatrist seems to want to sell you products when all you are looking for is ingrown toenail removal! He insisted I take a short course of antibiotics since he was certain I'd need another procedure--which I didn't. He claimed that I had to pay for cutting my toes nails--that Medicare wouldn't cover it--which is a lie! DON"T GO TO HIM!
