The carpenters that work for Deck Doctors are excellent craftsmen. They really know how to build a great deck. Unfortunately the owner of the company books too many projects at once and can disappear for a week. Of more importance, the owner has a very bad temper and gets very defensive when he is questioned about anything.

Did not seal the deck an spring as contracted or despite numerous followups well into summer. Seldom responds to email inquiries.

I recently had my redential deck stripped and stain/sealed by Jesse Einsig of the NOVADeckDoctor of Chantilly, VA. The project was completed in mid- April 2011. At the time of signing the contract and in several subsequent conversations with owner Mr. Einsig promised that he would provide extra stain to be used for additional repair work on the deck by a different contractor. Unfortunately, once Mr. Einsig receives your check, that completes ends the customer service aspect of his company. In good faith, I made repeated attempts to contact him via e-mail and voice mails in an attempt to obtain the aforementioned stain (after being promised such) and I wanted to bring some other matters concerning his workmanship (tape left on siding, failure to screw down a step as discussed during the estimate phase, final sanding..) and the overall quality, to no avail. He did strip and stain the deck, however, his failure to deliver on the promise of stain and simply return any e-mails or voice mails to address the aforementioned issue and others never happened. I now question the validity of an alleged 3 year written warranty and product/workmanship. Since the stain is allegedly not sold in stores and only he has access through it via his vendor, therein lies my problem. At this juncture, it would have been less stressful to simply go to Lowes or the Depot and buy a can of stain for touch up. Please understand that I am cognizant that you have more serious complaints, but, an A rating with BBB (lol). I don't think so. I do not endorse or recommend this company.
