When I bought my KIA, the dealership was not owned by Ourisman. I do not know what happened, but the original KIA dealership made several commitments to sweeten the deal for my purchase. One promise was free oil changes and tire rotation for the life of the car. I only had two or three services with the past owners. When Ourisman took over, they first told me they had no obligation under the agreement with the past owners. I said that I was under the impression that I was dealing with the dealership, backed by KIA. I am aware that individual dealerships are franchises, but I assumed that when ownership passed to a new franchisee, they would assume the obligations of the old owner, much as if an apartment building were sold, the leases of the tenants would pass to the new owners as well as the obligation to return security deposits and maintain the premises. After a lot of arguing, I got them to provide the free oil changes. They then tried to upsell the oil changes to synthetic oil, for which they wanted to charge an extra $90. At every encounter, they constantly tried to sell me maintenance items that were unnecessary, such as changing the cabin air filter before it was recommended by the factory. If all this were not bad enough, when I brought the car in after my rear window had spontaneously shattered when I turned on the defrost, they said it was not covered under the guarantee, but that if I called KIA, they might do something about it. That in itself was not a problem. I agree that some external event might have weakened the tempered glass. When I called consumer care at KIA, they said they might cover the repair, but that I had to take it back to Ourisman to have the damage inspected. I called Ourisman to arrange to have the damage inspected, and the service guy I talked to said he would have to ask "higher ups". He said they would call back. After many phone calls and no response from them, I finally went to Ourisman for routine oil change, and the assistant service manager said he would report to KIA customer service. When I called KIA the next day, they said that they had never heard from Ourisman, and that furthermore, my case had expired due to lack of pursuit of the claim. Keep in mind that my car was virtually out of service for a week while this charade was going on. In the end, I paid for an outside company to repair the window. I wouldn't have minded this, except for the week-long runaround I got from Ourisman. There are more annoying details, but it would take too long to describe them.

My wife and I were car shopping and were considering a Kia Telluride S. They advertised the lowest price versus other competitors (under the MSRP). However, we contacted a number of dealers asking for their lowest price bid to include closing costs and Ourisman was not that transparent. All they offered was that they could match the lowest price and by the time they finally gave me a quote it was much more expensive than the other bids, about $6,000 more than their advertised price based on their processing fee and additional fees. We didn't go with this dealer.

Got inaccurate advice from service advisor. He told me the part I needed was in stock; once I brought the car in, the part had to be ordered, delaying the repair. Dealership also tacks on various service fees in addition to the quoted price, and charges 3% additional if one uses a credit card. Not a bad dealership, but could be better.
