They are a mixed bag. While their communications before the work was prompt, they now typically take more than a week to respond to emails. Most of their work appears to be sound, except when its not. Their promptness to fixing issues is poor. Our concrete cracked a few days after laying and before any weight was placed on driveway. Their fix which initially looked good has now cracked and I am now told that cracks are normal part of concrete work, and there is no indication it will be fixed. Large gaps, not cracks, between masonry were reported and have not been fixed after 6 week. They left large concrete debris in neighbors driveway that was only removed once I reached out to them. Contractors will say pulling a permit and getting it inspected, is really a gray area for this type of work. Pull the permit, its more expensive, takes longer, but its for your protection. Our 60-year-old concrete driveway and walkway had greatly deteriorated and needed to be replaced. We got bids from four Virginia concrete contractors with high Checkbook ratings. C&N Construction LLC had the best price, which also included adding symmetrical, full-color Pennsylvania Flagstone to the new walkway and the original three-step porch and landing. (Note–Flagstone on the porch and steps required cutting and removing the wrought iron railings. The price did not include new railings; see CHECKBOOK ratings for Iron Workers.) The crew delivered a beautiful driveway, walkway, and porch, obviously, the work of a highly skilled and professional crew. We are happy with the result and highly recommend C&N. November 26, 2025

We have used C&N for several projects, two at our church and one at our home. In all cases the work was timely, excellent and they cleaned up professionally. We received multiple bids for the projects and they were the lowest and by a significant margin. They did a combination of concrete and stonework and were excellent at both. Talked over the price and options very clearly. Highly recommend.
