The owner, Hung Tran, suggested screening my floors and refinishing the stairs using water based finish. Screening the floors cost about $1000 less than a full refinishing of the floors. A couple of days later he wanted $700 more to pay for an additional coat of finish and another $400 for installation of the additional coat of finish. He claimed each gallon was $100. I looked up the cost up on Amazon & saw the actual cost was $37.50/gallon. Mr. Tran told me that my stairs were white oak and the floors were red oak and that the stairs would require extra treatment or I'd have orange floors. I told him I thought he knew his business and that I certainly didn't want orange floors. I ended up with orange splotches along the edges of my stairs that are very unsightly. I complained that I didn't feel I should pay for inferior work and the owner threatened to put a lien on my house. So, I wimped out and paid him. Others should know that Lee Floors and Hung Tran are not a good choice for floor refinishing.
