I will not be using Ivandale Farms Nursery again. I contracted with them to plant a small boxwood tree next to my house. I live in a populous inner suburb of DC. This is the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. When the team came, they were not wearing masks. Jesse, the foreman came to the door, I asked him to wear one and asked that those coming onto my property do so. Jesse complied, but the other three workers literally danced in the street, waggling and waving their hands over their heads in mockery at the request. They did not don masks. I spoke with the owner, Frank Brediman, about their unprofessional behavior. He informed me that Virginia law allows them to work outside without masks, and I would have had to put mask-wearing on my property into the contract. He did not comment on the rude and unbusinesslike behavior of his employees, but simply ended the conversation by saying “Merry Christmas.” The tone was clearly sarcastic. I am filing this review so that others who might expect the homeowner to have some control over conduct that occurs on their property, as I did, will not expect this company to comply. The response from Mr. Brediman was to say he would “come after me” if I said anything untrue in a review. (I have not.) I will not take the risk of doing business with this company again.
