When my old computer died recently, I contacted Herndon Tech and asked them to order me a very basic new desktop computer. In the past, their repair service was good, but this time they failed on all accounts. After waiting two weeks with no communication from them, I finally contacted Herndon Tech for an update on the status of my computer order. Apologies galore - and I was promised that my computer would be delivered and installed the upcoming Saturday. I waited all day Saturday and never heard a word from them. Later I learned that the owner/installer decided to take the day off but never informed me that he would not be delivering and setting up my new computer as promised. When he did show up with it a day later (after I called to find out what happened) he rushed thru the installation and left. When I found that my email did not work properly I contacted them and explained the problems that I encountered. The owner sent me a website so I could fix the problem myself. I am 76 years old and not tech savvy. Tho' I tried, the website was very confusing and of no help to me. When I contacted them again, I was told that they would call me to do a 'remote' on Friday at 4 p.m. Again ... nothing. When I sent them an email detailing all the waiting I did with no communication on their part and now had a computer that was not working the way it should - more apologies. This time I was told to call them at my convenience to do a remote to go over all the problems that I have encountered. I have not done so as I know they will charge me an additional fee to attempt to solve the problems associated with their initial set-up. I have already paid them $1,000 for a basic desktop with software and installation. I am so disappointed (actually disgusted) with Herndon Tech that I cannot recommend them. They have done NO follow-up to check if the problems with my new computer have been resolved. Now I need to find someone to clean up their mess.
