Due to malfunctioning A/C air handler, we sought information about replacement units. New refrigerant requirements meant replacing both the air handler and the condenser. Carrier was a manufacturer of choice, and McCarthy appeared to be the sole supplier of such units in this area. They quoted us a price, quite expensive, and claimed that the cost could be covered by "interest free payments" over the course of a year. However, when I indicated an interest in this option rather than paying in full up front, the price I had been offered suddenly increased by several thousand dollars, a contract I refused to sign. Apparently this option included the "interest free" payments.

McCarthy was worse than a used car salesman when giving me a quote for a new heat pump and furnace. High pressure sales, and then when they left, they called me 15 minutes later saying their manager gave approved a lower price if I signed right away. Ugh, no thanks.
