A leak or flood is an emergency - the homeowner is unlikely to have expertise but no time for research because damage continues even if water has receded. The contractor should: 1. assess conditions, including whether source of leak or flood has been controlled; 2. Advise on options, including urgency of action, premium costs and costs of waiting; 3. Maintain communication. With Restoration 1, the contact persons changed from the initial Estimator/Project Manager to whomever appeared to do the work. The first day of work, the lead worker said someone would be back the next day to check. No one came back until 3 days later - after I called the Project Manager and left a message. The different team that showed up discovered that water was still leaking and had done more damage; brought much more equipment and said that someone would be back to check. Had to call again to get someone back and again a different team. No continuity of communication or response and ultimately a bill that was incredibly detailed but not accurate. Very disappointing.

Had a catastrophic HW heater failure on a Saturday. They responded on Sunday to spray for mold then began clean up on Monday. This a veteran owned and staff business and they did outstanding work. Very impressed with their ability to deal with my insurance problems.
