Geek Squad was a nightmare. I bought an ASUS laptop and the motherboard died 9 days after the one-year warranty expired. Geek Squad sent it out for an estimate for repairs. They called while I was on vacation and said it would cost $300 to repair. I didn't respond fast enough so they sent it back to the store for pick up. In the meantime I called my credit card company and discovered that it had extended the warranty for 1 year. I needed a written estimate of the repair to file a claim. Geek Squad does not provide written estimates. The best they could do was print out illegible notes from the repair facility with the estimate. Fortunately, the credit card company accepted this. Geek Squad sent computer to repair facility again. They called and said it would cost $460 to repair. Hello?? After complaining, they agreed to fix it for the original $300, which is what the credit card company was going to pay me. Lessons learned: don't buy from Best Buy, don't buy an Asus laptop, and don't use Geek Squad.

They performed a $200 service to rid desktop CPU of viruses and incarese speed. Instead, they should have told me the CPU was outdated and I needed a replacement. I had to buy a new computer two months after the $200 service, which turned out to be useless. It did nothing to improve performance of my computer.
