I have been a Total Tech member for ages. I have used the phone service multiple times, and have always used the Springfield Best Buy location when I needed to take my computer in. I have always found both the remote and in person services to be excellent. I am not particularly computer savvy, but the technicians always mange to make the ins and outs of the technical issues and my repair options understandable. The use of appointments for in-person service eliminates any guessing about how long it will be before a technician can help you. I have always found both the remote and in person technicians to friendly, very helpful, and infinitely patient.

As noted above, this Best Buy/Geek Squad office has provided service which has usually been unpleasant for us. When we need to schedule an appointment, it is often almost impossible to get into the shop earlier than 10 or 11 days later because of lack of appointment availability. Then, when we've taken the computers into the Geeks at this location, they act as if they are doing us a favor by condescending to deal with people who do not know computers as "well" as they do. At one point a couple of years ago, we went to the Geek Squad in Woodbridge, VA, about 10 times the distance from our home that the Springfield Geek Squad office is. We'd not been able to get an appointment in Springfield, and frankly, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Unlike the downright mean, lazy, arrogant, condescending, and sometimes argumentative Geeks in Springfield, the Woodbridge Geek Squad employees are friendly, helpful, humble, patient, and caring. So - a word to the wise - do not go to the Geeks in Springfield, VA, unless it's a quick, simple fix: that's the attitude we have had to develop. The Springfield Geeks should not be dealing with the public.
