I had A Step in Time inspect two homes. The quality of the inspections was adequate, but the recommendations for repairs were overpriced by an exorbitant amount. For example, they wanted to remove a $76 chimney cap and remove the rust for $200. They also wanted to use concrete caulk to seal between bricks when it was obvious that they needed to have the concrete removed and be pointed. Waterproofing of both chimneys cost over $600. It is ok to use this firm to identify what needs to be done, but have the work done by a reputable firm like The Chimney Doctor Nova, Inc. who will do the work properly for a reasonable rate.
