The store ruined a pair of highly polished sterling silver earrings to have a bent post on one earing replaced. A simple repair.. Left the damaged earing. Store did not complete work on time and I have to call asking about the delay. When completed, they presented me the "repaired" earring but had buffed it down so it now looked like buffed nickel - not shiny & highly polished. Spoke to the manager and showed her the companion earring. She told me that it was the "polishing" was a byproduct necessitated by replacing the post. I gave the manager the matching earring and told her I expected that the now ruined earing would be polished to match its mate. When I returned to pick it up, I found the store had "polished" the undamaged earring to match the damaged one When I complained, the store manager lied to my face and said that the earrings looked that way when I brought them in. I have owned the earrings for more than 20 years and now have to find a silversmith that can attempt to return them to their original condition.
