Used to be a great hospital. But unfortunately the take over by Multicare appears to have had a huge negative impact on care especially the ER. Non doctor staffers fortunately are still in many cases very good and especially helpful. But the so called "hospitalters" (hospital doctors who manage your care) appear to be either significantly overworked or lacking in adequate knowledge/experience. Our own doctor's (in our case a specialist wrt the reason admitted to the ER) instructions/orders were ignored and completely overruled by these hospitalters without adequate information being obtained about patient's condition. My husband after receiving inappropriate treatment was sent home after several days without the treatment Rxd by his specialist and left worse off than before being admitted. He had to have the treatment Rxd by his specialist as an outpatient elsewhere even though he was told he was critical and followed instructions to immediately go to the ER for the specialist ordered treatment. This is not an isolated case. My brother in law was sent home after hours following heart cath despite obvious signs of stroke and he had to be readmitted but fortunatley went to a different hospital where he obtained appropriate care. I was sent home after hours following a heart procedure with obvious signs of congestive heart failure caused by the procedure with inadquate treatment.

I have been here a few times. The last time I was there I was told that my symptoms were related to my heart and that within 6 weeks of walking out of the hospital that I would have a heart attack. I'm a bigger woman and the PA I saw looked at my like he was disgusted and didn't even take the time to do any sort of examination. He just looked at my symptoms, didn't run any tests or anything, he just admitted me. When I got to my room, the internal medicine DR came in and said she had no idea why the PA in the ER admitted me, that it had nothing to do with my heart, but they would set up a stress test just to make sure and they discharged me. The stress test was a mess and they didn't do anything they said they were going to do. I have decided to go the extra 20 minutes to Federal Way from now on to go to St. Francis there instead of just 5 minutes up the road to Good Sam. It's become that bad.
