Greenwood's installers did an excellent job of installing a mini-split HVAC system in my apartment. The installation was tidy, unobtrusive, and completed quickly with thorough clean-up. The system price seemed very high, but I accepted the high price because the contract guaranteed me not just the manufacturer's basic parts-only warranty but also an excellent second warranty from the manufacturer that would cover all costs of fixing any malfunctions. The second warranty turned out to be a bait and switch: After the system was installed, I learned that the second manufacturer warranty didn't exist at all. After much hassle, Greenwood finally substituted an inferior third party warranty that did have the coverage Greenwood promised to cover, threatening to sue me if I didn't accept the inferior warranty or an unacceptably small refund in lieu of the promised warranty. Also, after contractually promising lien releases from its suppliers, Greenwood repeatedly sent fake lien releases that were signed not by suppliers but by Greenwood itself. Later -- apparently in retaliation for my insistence that it honor its contract before collecting final payment -- Greenwood refused to provide contractually promised annual maintenance that I'd paid for.

Our heat pump system was improperly installed, and our repeated requests to remediate the deficiencies were not addressed. Very disappointing.

Despite some misgivings, I had a technician come out to see what was wrong with the air conditioner. He looked at the outside unit and the inside units (2). He felt the outside unit and said he would get his gauges to check to units. Then he asked to use the bathroom and I heard him talking to the office. After speaking with the office he came out asked some questions about the age of the units, stated that I might need to added coolant for around $800 and then stated that I might need to get a new outdoor unit and would I like to have a salesman out to price a new unit. He had not checked anything, had not retrieved his gauges, and gave me a bill for $359. I sent him on his way after receiving no troubleshooting and just trying to sell me on new equipment. I called another firm Evergreen Home Heating and Air Conditioning. Their technician came out with his gauges and determined that I did need additional coolant which he added. He also determined that the outside unit had been miswired when installed and kept freezing up. He corrected the wiring and the toral charge was less than the amount Greenwood charged for absolutely zero troubleshooting. The review is actually for two companies.
