I recommend with a couple of caveats. First, I have taken my cats to RAH since 2005 when one of my girls needed surgery to repair her fractured jaw and remove bullet shrapnel. The surgeons involved at this time were Dr. Paulson and Dr. Kristine Cage (who I absolutely loved for her thoroughness and bedside manner). When Dr. Cage left, it was difficult to find another vet with the knowledge of this cat's background/history. We eventually settled on one and she has been very good with our two. But, I've been really disappointed with the costs: it just seems they keep rising so quickly; my partner and I are on fixed incomes/retirement pensions and this is the biggest issue by far. They've started a monthly health plan at the clinic for cats/dogs to cover many basic services and vaccines, but for both of ours the cost would be $150/month to do this and there is no coverage for prescription medications. The other issue I have is that turnover among vets seems high. For awhile, there were new vets every time we made appointments and it's still somewhat this way, meaning we don't always get to see our "chosen" vet - especially if timing doesn't match. Otherwise, RAH has done well by me and my cats and we'll continue to take ours here, since they have medical histories and are able to quickly pull those up.
