When we purchased our home, the builder installed an HVAC system through Bob’s. As part of the process, we were offered a warranty plan from Bob’s, which covered 10 years of service for our entire HVAC system at a set price. Throughout that period, Bob’s serviced both our AC and heater, and even after the warranty expired, we continued to use them for maintenance. By year 14, we noticed a rusty water stain on the ceiling below the HVAC system. Concerned, we hired a different company to inspect the issue. Their diagnosis was alarming—they found that our secondary heat exchanger had completely rusted through. To make matters worse, our system was immediately red-tagged and shut down due to the severe risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. My daughter had been complaining of headaches for over a week, and, disturbingly, her symptoms disappeared once the system was turned off. It turns out that the faulty part had been recalled by the manufacturer just three years after our home was built. Yet despite having registered our HVAC system with the manufacturer, we were never informed of the recall. Even more frustrating, Bob’s—who had serviced our unit every year—never once notified us or offered the free replacement part that the manufacturer had made available at the time. They could have replaced it at no cost, but they never did. I will never forgive them for prioritizing profit over safety and putting my family at risk. When I contacted Bob’s multiple times about assisting us in obtaining compensation for the defective secondary heat exchanger—now outside the manufacturer’s replacement period—they never returned my calls. In stark contrast, the HVAC company we hired not only worked with the manufacturer to recover the cost of the failed part, but they also helped us replace the entire heater, which had deteriorated beyond repair. As a result, we were left without heat for an entire month in November. I tell everyone to avoid Bob’s because they have proven that their concern for profit far outweighs any regard for family safety.

The cost is never upfront and even if they cannot fix the issue they will still charge the cost of the visit

We moved into the home and discovered the 5 year old air conditioner was not working and had to put in a new air conditioner it was hooked into a 20 year old furnace and they highly recommended we replace it as well. We have used it just one year now and it has been amazing. It is some of the best money we have spent.
